First published in Modern World magazine, 1910, issue 9, September, under the title "Meeting", with the subtitle "The Play", and at the same time a separate book entitled "Children", with the subtitle "Comedy in One Act", in the publishing house I. P. Ladzhnikova, Berlin (without the year of publication). The play is written by M. Bitter no later than the summer of 1910. In November 1910, M. Bitter wrote M. M. Kotsyubinsky: “I am sending you a “Meeting” maybe, reading, you will smile once” (Archive A.) M. (Bitter). Beginning in 1923, the play was included in all works.
