A mysterious and seditious ritual performed by the mayor of the seventeenth legion forever changed the daily routine of the World Eaters. While the Chaos-given ghost Angron, chained to the lower decks of the Conqueror, struggles with internal demons, heralding the cruiser with a mad roar, the rest of the Eaters spend their days in bloody duels. Uncertainty, on the one hand, and Butcher's Nails, on the other, leave even such a butcher as Kharn with a lot of doubts. Will the legion itself be doomed to a fate that has been prepared for a ghost? Will something human remain in the World Eaters or will they turn into howling psychopaths and chained sleepwalkers? Where will the legion take their new eightfold path, from which they will never be able to return?
