Barneby Raj (D.T.) Barnaby Rudge is a novel by Charles Dickens, first published in 1841. It was one of two novels published on the pages of the weekly "Master Humphrey's Clock" (along with "The Lover of Antiquities"), the fifth novel by Dickens in a row and the first of his historical novels. Barneby Raja takes place in 1780, during Lord Gordon's so-called rebellion. This book was one of the least popular novels of Dickens.
