By the will of a lucky accident (without fraud, of course, did not do) the glorious Sir Nevpopad becomes the owner of a drinking establishment called Bugger Hall. A quiet profitable place, a prosperous life in satiety and abundance - it would seem that another person needs! But one winter evening a stranger appears in the inn. And in exchange for a drink, this evening's guest foretells to the host a long, dangerous journey that should lead Sir Nevpapp neither to victory nor to trouble.
