The materials of the international scientific conference dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the arrival in Arkhangelsk of the first Allied convoy "Dervish", which initiated large-scale convoy operations for the supply of strategic cargoes for the USSR during the Great Patriotic War, 1941-1945 are presented. Special attention is paid to the problems of history and historiography of Lend-Lease and Northern convoys. The importance of Arctic convoys not only in the delivery of goods, but also the role of convoys in achieving the strategic initiative of the allies of the Anti-Hitler coalition in the war at sea, in the organization of cooperation of fleets of different countries was noted.
