In Roman Britain, the Boudicca Rebellion breaks out...60 g. n. e. United Kingdom. The power of the Roman Empire over the province is still fragile. Tribes relentlessly resisting Rome have become even more insidious in their attacks on the legions. Even among those who have sworn allegiance, a murmuring is heard louder. In distant Rome, Nero remains blind to the looming danger. While the fighting is creating more chaos in the west of the province, Viceroy Guy Suetonius Paulin is gathering all possible additional forces to suppress the resistance under the command of Prefect Cato. The hero of countless battles, Cato, wished that his loyal combat comrade centurion Macron was next to him. However, the proprietor leaves Macron in the rear in charge of the reserve consisting of veterans in Kamulodunum . Suetonius dismisses concerns that the poorly fortified colony would be vulnerable to attack with only a nominal garrison in stock. While the regular units of the Roman army are distracted by the war in the west, slowly smoldering anger among the local tribes flares up with a bright flame. The Itzen king is dead, and a proud kingdom is about to be plundered and annexed by Rome. But the widow, Queen Boudicca, is a woman with the heart of a warrior. If Boudicca challenges the emperor and calls for a fight to the death, the province will turn into a bloodbath. Macron and Cato engage in a deadly battle with enemies who would rather die than bow to Roman rule. The future of Britain hangs in the balance.
