Peru American writer Andre Norton, the "great lady of fiction" of the 20th century, owns more than 130 books. Critics, alas, did not hurry to support her, and she herself was too modest a person to punch her way to the pedestal. Nevertheless, her talent shone so brightly that it did not go unnoticed. And in 1963 in the United States published a book called “The Wizarding World” so was created one of the most famous fantasy worlds in the history of the genre. In the second volume of the cycle "The Wizarding World" there were two novels and a collection united by the place of action. This mountainous land for some unknown reason left the people of the Ancient race, and those who came here, called it the Higher Hollak in honor of their lost homeland. In this new world it was possible to pass only through the magic Gate. Before the Great Invasion, the Higher Hollak enjoyed peace and the law reigned within it.
