"Vajrachkhedika prajnaparamnta sutra, or the Sutra of Perfect Wisdom, cutting (the darkness of ignorance) like a lightning strike" (India, I in . n. e. ), also known in Europe as the Diamond Sutra, and among the Oirats and Kalmyks called "Dorzh Jodv", is one of the fundamental and most authoritative Sanskrit texts of Mahayana Buddhism. It is part of an extensive literature revealing the teaching of Prajnaparamiga (transcendental wisdom). The Diamond Sutra is an extremely revered and popular sacred text.
