Young Charlotte tried her hand at different genres, in her works there is romance, adventure, and fiction, in them there is a place for author's irony, and polemical intrigue. However, over time, the main theme of Charlotte Bront is love. The present edition includes her stories and stories from 1829-1834, as well as those of her brother Branwell. Translator E. Dobrokhotova-Maykova in the foreword writes: "To trace step by step the development of daring, unexpected talent that amazed contemporaries and continues to amaze descendants - for this very reason, Charlotte's early books deserve the most careful reading" .
