In Isaac Asimov's novel Robots and Empire, the action takes place two centuries after the events of Robots of the Morning Dawn. A wave of expansion from Earth to other planets is gaining strength and conflicts appear between cosmonites (residents of the Outer Worlds) and settlers (descendants of earthlings) . Gladia, a woman cosmonite, which with Elijah Bailey was associated with sincere love, is still alive - because cosmonites live three to four centuries. Alive and her enemy is Dr. Amadeiro, who, after the death of Dr. Hen Fastolf, again intends to take revenge on the Earth, which has already settled many planets.
