"Under the purple banners" is the last major work of the outstanding Chinese writer, to whom he devoted years of his life before the tragic death in 1966. Nothing was known about the novel until 1979, when the first eleven chapters appeared in the three issues of the magazine "Menmin Wenxue" ("People's Literature"). A year later, the novel was published in a separate edition .. Unfortunately, the novel remained unfinished, the work on it was interrupted by the death of the writer.
