“The wings of death will fall on anyone who disturbs the peace of the pharaoh” - such an inscription carved on a stone tablet was allegedly found by British researchers Howard Carter and George Herbert, who opened the tomb of the Egyptian king Tutankhamun. Two dozen expedition members died under strange circumstances, victims of the mummy's curse (at least that's the rumor). The “curse” became a widespread myth in the press and inspired many writers, including this story.
