“The Adventures of Alice in Wonderland” and “Alice in Wonderland”, two world-famous tales of Lewis Carroll, have long been read not only by children, but also by adults. In recent years, they are increasingly attracting the attention of scientists of various specialties: they are engaged not only in literary historians, but also in mathematics and physics, psychologists and linguists. This edition includes both of Carroll's tales with detailed comments by M. Gardner, a well-known American scientist and popularizer of science. There are also articles by major writers and scholars devoted to various aspects of Carroll's work. Among them is G.. K. Chesterton, W. Wolf, W. de La Mara, as well as articles by Soviet scientists. This edition also includes a recently found episode from "Mirror" - "Bumblebee in the wig", which Carroll excluded in the process of proofreading. These materials are published in Russian for the first time.
