This collection contains eight of Ellison's stories not previously translated into Russian, and two capital-edited poor-quality translations. The Washington Post has named Harlan Ellison as one of the greatest living American short story writers. The Los Angeles Times wrote: Harlan Ellison is long overdue for the title of Lewis Carroll of the 20th century. In his 50-year career, he has won more awards than any other living science fiction. He has written or edited 74 books, more than 1,700 short stories, essays, articles, and newspaper columns. Created two dozen TV shows and a dozen motion pictures. He has won the Hugo Award eight times. three times - "Nebula" , five times Bram Stoker Award , Awarded by the Horror Writers Association (including the Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996), twice - Edgar Allan Poe Award (American Mystic Writers), Georges Mélis Award for Fiction , and the Silver Pen for Journalism from the International Union of Writers. He is also the only author in Hollywood to have won the Writers Guild of America Award four times for the most outstanding television series (solo work), most recently for "The Lost Hour Palladium", 1987. In March 1998, the National Women's Committee of Brandeis University awarded him the "Words, wit and wisdom" award. He recently completed the screenplay for the film Demon with a Glass Arm, directed by David Tui.
