After the retreat of the imperial troops from the icy world of Cressida, a detachment of Valhalla warriors led by indomitable Colonel Stanislav Steele embarks on a rescue expedition in search of an important imperial dignitary, who must be evacuated from the planet to a safe place. But Cressida is teeming with the occupation forces of Chaos, obsessed with the extermination of local residents.
