This dictionary is the first experience of creating a dictionary of euphemisms of the Russian language . The dictionary includes mainly euphemisms of the literary language . Exceptions are vernacular euphemisms, replacing obscenity (branch) vocabulary, the removal of which from the dictionary description would seem an artificial limitation. The dictionary also contains words that are euphemisms only in terms of the history of the language. The tempted reader will be interested in etymological comments accompanying the lexicographic description of such words. For a long time, the topic of euphemisms remained in Russianism under an unofficial ban. Proclaimed the only true "direct" communication led to a significant drop in the speech culture of contemporaries. Meanwhile, in the practice of communication, a slender system of linguistic preferences of native speakers of the Russian language has developed euphemisms ..
