The Adventures of Oliver Twist is the most famous novel of the great Dickens. The story of a boy who is orphaned, forced to wander through the gloomy slums of London The vicissitudes of the fate of the little hero, numerous meetings on his way and the happy end of difficult and dangerous adventures - all this arouses genuine interest among many readers around the world. The novel was first published from February 1837 to March 1839 in the new magazine Bentley's Miscellany ("Bentley's mixture"), the editor of which the publisher Bentley invited Dickens. Even before the end of his magazine, Dickens, by agreement with Bentley, in October 1838 released the novel a separate edition.
