This work is a brief summary of 15 years of research aimed at creating and researching specific models that implement the hypothesis of holographic mechanisms of the brain, put forward more than 40 years ago, but still not received a model embodiment. Two classes of models based on two different approaches are described. The first approach is to build neural network structures that implement holographic effects. The second approach offers distributed encoding of digital images, which ensures their reliable recovery with significant damage. It can be seen as a discrete version of the holographic model that has cognitive aspects.
