In the review, the author used materials of official business trip to the United States, during which he was given the opportunity to familiarize himself with the activities of a number of organizations, prominent in the development and improvement of metal structures in the United States, and also visit nine steel construction plants for construction. The review was based on personal observations of the author, conversations with senior employees of organizations and factories, technical literature, including monographs, standards and regulatory publications.
