The village of Avdotino near Moscow preserves the memory of the “zealot of Russian enlightenment”, writer and first major book publisher of the 18th century. N. I. Novikov. Here he was born, conceived and implemented some plans, met with friends - architects V. M. Bazhenov, A. L. Vitberg, doctor M. Ya. Mudrov, writers N. M. Karamzin, I. P. Turgenev.
