Church of the Intercession of the Most Holy Theotokos, 1996. Man cannot, like an animal, be content with material goods alone. Sooner or later, he begins to yearn for something spiritual in his life, and then a number of fundamental questions confront him: why he lives, what is the purpose of his existence, whether there is something outside the physical world, and so on. d. Christianity helps a person to break out of the clutches of everyday fuss, find meaning in life and develop the noblest abilities of his soul. But, since the end of the last century, the Western world has become more and more flooded with all sorts of Indian-occult or Eastern teachings, offering their methods of spiritualizing life. Applying to the mentality of people of Western culture, these teachings freely use Christian terminology and Christian concepts, giving the impression that they do not contradict Christianity, but only make up for what is missing in it. In fact, these teachings are in direct conflict with Christian teaching and put people on the wrong spiritual path. Unfortunately, not everyone is able to understand what they are actually wrong .. Especially when the ideas propagated by these teachings are closely intertwined with Christian. In this work, in the light of Christianity, we will consider the main provisions in the Indian-Occult or Oriental teachings and show what exactly and why they are wrong. We will also show why the psychotechnical techniques they offer, aimed at expanding consciousness and opening internal spaces, are harmful to the psyche and harmful to the soul. In the second part we will give some historical data and features of the most popular Eastern cults.
