Minsk: Science and Technology, 1976. - 224 s. The book presents a phenomenological theory of light reflection from the boundary of the separation of transparent uniaxial and biaxial crystals with an isotropic medium. Common expressions obtained using the covariant approach are analyzed, as well as the most important particular cases of reflection and refraction. The properties of inhomogeneous waves arising in the crystal and in the isotropic medium. are considered. Common expressions for various characteristics of reflected and refracted waves are presented in a form convenient for practical calculations on computers. The results of such calculations for some crystals are presented in the form of graphs and tables. The book can be useful for scientific and engineering workers involved in the development of various crystal-optical devices, as well as for undergraduate and graduate students in physical specialties as a teaching aid in crystal-optics.
