Atlas of Ice formations" is a reference manual for boatmasters, hydrologists of ice exploration and employees of marine hydromet stations performing ice observations. Atlas should facilitate observations of sea ice and ensure their uniformity. The first part of the manual provides a brief description of the processes of formation, deformation and melting of sea ice. In the second part are given in thematic order, with their nomenclature numbers, the terms of the domestic nomenclature of sea ice and the corresponding terms (in English) of the WMO nomenclature. Numbers of figures illustrating a particular term are indicated. At the same time, in addition to the main drawings, additional ones are indicated in parentheses, which can be attracted for a more complete idea of the appearance of any formation or phenomenon .. In the third, the main part of the manual is placed illustrating the ice nomenclature of photographs of ice formations and some phenomena occurring in the ice cover.
