The article conducted experimental studies of the processes of ignition and stabilization of electric arc discharge of combustion of hydrocarbon fuels in the supersonic air flow . Determination of discharge parameters, flame characteristics (ignition delay). It is shown that the average energy invested in the stream by the ignition device is more than five orders of magnitude less than the kinetic energy of the main gas flow.
