// Historical and Archaeological Collection. M. , 1962. Novgorod Town, this incomparable treasury of ancient Russian sphragistics, and today remains as generous as it was in the days of N. Likhachev, in whose collection there were several hundred seals of urban origin . In 1960. The Novgorod Museum received a seal found on the Town Hall, recorded in the inventory book of the museum under No13082. Lead printing, 26-28 mm in diameter, excellent preservation, well-patined, bears the following images and inscriptions (Figure.) I, 1), t. e. "The seal of Basil, the noblest archon of Russia, Monomakh" . Published type of printing found for the first time. Until now, it has not been known in the wreckage or in unreadable instances of poor preservation.. But its definition is not difficult. The names of the owner of the bull of the Russian prince Vasily Monomakh are well known. These names reveal the "Teaching" of Vladimir Monomakh . With the baptismal name "Vasily" Vladimir Vsevolodovich is also named in the "Wanting of the Abbot Daniel" .. The ownership of the press by Vladimir Vsevolodovich Monomakh is confirmed by the whole complex of various elements of the bulla : its Greek language, size, artistic style, use of the image of the saint in the belt version, paleographic features of the inscription (especially note the written beta). All its signs directly indicate the second half of XI - the beginning of XII in ..
