L. : State Hermitage Museum, 1940. - 116 s. Myths of ancient Egypt are of exceptional interest not only for the history of the Egyptian religion They are a necessary source for the study of the entire culture of Egypt. The involvement of mythological material is inevitable in the study of individual issues of Egyptian history, especially its oldest periods, and for understanding a number of problems of Egyptian art. This work provides translations of all the major Egyptian myths that have come down to us in more or less complete literary records. It seemed to the author, however, inexpedient to cite such tales, the texts of which are overloaded with a mass of magical formulas or theological reasoning and which are of interest only to a narrow circle of specialists.
