The book goes under the heading "Behind the pages of textbooks of physics and chemistry" . At a fairly popular level, the physics and chemistry of the earth's atmosphere, as well as its emergence and evolution from the archaea to our time, are systematically considered. Special chapters are presented: circulation of air masses in the atmosphere (global and local winds, cyclones and anticyclones, typhoons and tornadoes), phase transitions in the atmosphere (formation of fogs and clouds and precipitation), electricity in the atmosphere (threats, linear and ball lightning) . Separately considered optical phenomena in the atmosphere (green ray, mirages, rainbow, halo) and celestial frights in the upper atmosphere (the interaction of the solar wind with the Earth's magnetosphere, magnetic storms, the nature of auroras). Can be used as an additional teaching aid in grades 10-11 with profile training, as well as for self-education.
