This book is a response to the urgent need for a benefit according to the Law of God. It conveys to children not just initial knowledge, but, as far as possible for children’s understanding, a complete and integral Orthodox worldview. Therefore, the book contains not only a consistent account of the stories from the Sacred History, but also indications of the mutual relationship of the Old and New Testaments, the relationship of the events described with our modern worship, prayers, sacraments and with the Christian life. This is done in an understandable form and in a language that is accessible to children .. A feature of the book is an attempt to teach children not only to read and study the book, but also to work on it themselves. For this purpose, independent works are indicated at the end of each chapter.
