The process of spiritual search at the beginning of the 20th century led to the emergence of such famous writers and philosophers as Vladimir Solovyov, Nikolai Berdyaev, Fr. Sergey Bulgakov, Semyon Frank and others. This pleiad created a movement that is now commonly referred to as the 20th-century Russian religious renaissance. The whole world today knows about Russian philosophy by these names. They consciously chose the path of restoration of broken ties with church culture. Their return to the Christian ideal was not blind but a sighted return. They were convinced, and not without reason, that they would find in Christianity the source of creativity, life and social creation that they could not find on the paths of positivism, mechanics and other once fashionable theories.
