The main purpose of this training manual is, to form a student a certain holistic worldview about information-modeling systems of technological processes in metallurgy , to acquaint students with the methodology of system analysis and the procedure for its use in relation to mathematical modeling of thermophysical processes in metallurgy SCADA- and MES-levels . The book was written jointly with the teachers of the Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin” and employees of OJSC “Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works”, developing and operating modern information and modeling systems. The textbook is recommended for students of higher educational institutions studying under bachelor's and master's programs of direction 150400 "Metallurgy" . The book can be useful for scientific and engineering specialists engaged in the research, development and practical implementation of information modeling systems for the management of complex energy-intensive, distributed objects and their complexes in metallurgy. The textbook was prepared for printing and published at the expense of the Grant Competition of the Vladimir Potanin Scholarship Program 2013/14 academic year.
