This book explores the urgent need to critically examine the profound changes occurring in our culture. Driven by advances in science, technology, and innovation, new values are emerging, shaping a new cultural landscape. Rational thinking—the foundation of modern progress—is increasingly giving way to technocratic ideals. However, this shift poses a significant danger: a disconnect from the realities of our world. Manifestations of this crisis are evident both in humanity’s relationship with nature and in personal communication, highlighting not only the peril of continued progress-driven development but also the urgent need to critique technocratic thinking, which exacerbates existing crises. For the first time, the book offers an analysis of the value foundations of technocracy—what can be called the ethics of technocracy. Using the work of the renowned French architect Le Corbusier as a case study, it illustrates the conflict between technocratic thinking and human needs. The book also examines religious foundations of ecological ethics and demonstrates the futility of attempts to resolve the global ecological crisis through the creation of new ecological ethics that oppose Christianity. This work is aimed at readers interested in the philosophical issues surrounding globalization. The cover features an image of Modulor, a famous design by Le Corbusier.
