The Time of Troubles was what Russian people called the hard times of the late 16th and early 17th centuries, when the country found itself in a deep social crisis. It seemed that Russia would not survive the “great ruin.” But mortal danger forced citizens to forget their personal troubles and rise to the defense of the Fatherland. Overcoming the Time of Troubles highlighted the best features of the Russian people - perseverance, courage, selfless devotion to their native land, willingness to sacrifice their lives for it. The proposed book tells in a popular form about Minin and Pozharsky, shows the complexity and inconsistency of the Time of Troubles in Rus', traces the struggle of our people against the Polish and Swedish interventionists, full of intense, sometimes dramatic events.
