**Another Orthodox Catechism** First published in 1924, this book opens with the following lines: “Q. What does the book called the Christian Catechism contain? A. A guide to understanding Christian teachings about faith and piety. Q. Why is such a guide called a catechism? A. Catechism means instruction, that is, the initial teaching that was imparted to those entering the Church since the earliest days of Christianity. Q. Does the catechism contain the entirety of Christian teaching on faith and piety? A. Far from it. This teaching is rich and boundless, just as the Lord God is infinite, and it should be studied by a Christian throughout their entire life.” Printed in Australia, this charming edition stands out due to its traditional printing method. The book is produced using letterpress, where metal type is arranged into lines, which are then assembled into pages. Ink is applied to the entire metal form, and this is how the printing occurs—much like in Gutenberg’s time. The letters dance up and down the lines, and in many places, not only the letters but also the spaces between them are imprinted on the paper. In one spot, a line was set incorrectly, resulting in a line printed upside down. It’s quite endearing! There’s something wonderful about seeing the handwork in printed materials.
