**Preface to the Third Edition** The third edition is printed from the matrices of the previous edition. The original text has undergone only minor changes, but at the end of the book, there is an appendix featuring 116 new problems covering all sections of physics addressed in this volume. Among these, 45 problems were created by V. L. Ginzburg, 6 by L. M. Levin, 11 by M. S. Rabinovich, and 35 by D. V. Sivukhin. The remaining 19 problems were contributed by faculty and staff from Gorky State University and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. The authors take this opportunity to express their deep gratitude to them. I have personally edited the new problems.
