The book "North American Indians" presented to the Soviet reader is an abbreviated translation from English of a collective monograph written by a group of Soviet and American scientists - ethnographers, historians, anthropologists. The book consists of a number of essays that give a picture of the early colonial period of the history of Indian tribes and the period of intensive colonization of the continent, as well as the position of Indians in modern American society. Of interest are data on the ethnography of Indians and maps of the settlement of Indian tribes.
