The author of the published chapters from the documentary story “The Fourteen-Year-Old Fighter” by A. Ya. Ochkin “The Seeker” was already talked about in the essay by V. Stepanov “Names of unknown people, heroes” (No. 1 for 1964). Alexey Ochkin, during the battle on the Volga in the most difficult days of defense, with a handful of fighters, fought off attacks by fascist tanks at the Tractor Plant for ten days. Fourteen-year-old Vanya Fedorov fought with him, who accomplished a heroic feat and gave his life to save the soldiers. A. Ochkin tells in his story about the last days of the life of the young hero, whose name many pioneer units of our country now bear.
