This publication is the result of cooperation between scientists of the Institute of Ethnology and Anthropology . N. N. Miklouho-Maclay Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Art History, Ethnography and Folklore . K. Nettles of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Institute of Art, Folklore and Ethnology . M. T. Rila National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine . The research was supported by three scientific funds: the Russian Humanitarian Science Foundation, the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Fundamental Research and the State Foundation for Fundamental Research of Ukraine. Ethnologists of the three countries studied a comprehensive picture of ethno-cultural ties and peculiarities of the life of the population of border regions.
