“A spacious room, similar to the elegant salon of a luxury company, a hotel lobby or something similar. In the back of the room there is a wide window overlooking the city. Armchairs, a bar-refrigerator, successfully decorated to match the interior, a table with magazines, a service desk or counter - someone’s workplace. Three entrance doors: one side on the right, another side on the left, the third is imaginary, located on the proscenium and facing the auditorium. The fourth, which is also clearly visible to the public, leads to a bathroom with a toilet. At the beginning of the performance, all this may be hidden behind the curtain. The Commander appears first, and through a door that supposedly exists in the “fourth wall”. From the stalls he climbs the stairs to the stage. Whether there is a curtain or not, it doesn’t matter: the Commander seems to find himself in front of a closed door - let’s call it door No. 1 - and his behavior is completely typical in such cases, we see and hear it: he rings the bell or knocks, waits, rings again or knocks because no one is answering, then steps back as if to check the number on the door or the nameplate, after which he finally decides to enter. He turns the imaginary doorknob and enters..."
