“How the Soap Was Tempered” is a touching, slightly naive story about how important it is to be able to find a common language with loved ones without losing yourself. Despite the fairly ordinary everyday topics, it touches on very significant problems: relationships in the family, self-realization, self-esteem. Many ordinary women can recognize themselves in the main character Sveta, since her problems are very relevant for most middle-aged women (and not only). Moreover, readers may well find in Sveta’s story answers to questions that have long been troubling them. Perhaps the work will even help them take the first step to change their own lives. This story will be especially close to women who recognize themselves in the main character, since the problem of strained relationships with their mother-in-law and almost complete dependence on their husbands is, unfortunately, very close to many of them.
