Perhaps someone will be surprised by the choice of the topic of this publication, t. k. Seven dozen released Jagdtigers? almost did not prove anything on the battlefield. Quite correctly sound the statements of some researchers that the cost of making such giants have not paid off and they have become just a symbol of the “all-crushing power of the German army”? But nevertheless, the very fact of their creation and combat use in the agonizing Third Reich? is very interesting. Unfortunately (for us students of technology, and to the delight of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers who fought in that war), the small number of Jagdtigers released left an extremely small amount of factual material about their creation and use of this formidable machine.
