The proposed book, being the first general review of physical kinetics in the literature, does not claim to cover the entire field and is limited to only the most basic issues. The kinetic properties of bodies are investigated only in a general form .. Numerical solution of kinetic equations; the theory of thermal conductivity of gases consisting of complex molecules; the dependence of diffusion coefficient and others in the mixture of gases on its composition; the theory of single-atom gases by Chapman and Enskog - all such questions are omitted. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with classical and quantum statistics, the basics of quantum mechanics, with the concept and simplest properties of tensors and with the basic concepts of the theory of elasticity and hydrodynamics. The book does not compare the conclusions of the theory with experimental data. Such a limitation of its content and may be excessive compressibility, representing its undoubted drawback, were dictated mainly by the lack of space. The author hopes that, despite this, the book will be useful.
