The definitions of quantities published in the collection relate to the general concepts of theoretical mechanics, as well as to the concepts of kinematics and kinetics. The collection contains letter designations of the main values of theoretical mechanics according to the alphabet of terms, the letter designations themselves are given in the order of the Latin and Greek alphabets. This terminology is recommended by the Committee of Scientific and Technical Terminology of the USSR Academy of Sciences for use in scientific and technical literature, educational process, standards and documentation. Terminology is recommended by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the USSR for higher and secondary special educational institutions . Recommended terms are reviewed in terms of language norms by the Institute of Russian Language of the USSR Academy of Sciences.
