One of the bright and universal phenomena of nonlinear physics is considered - the excitation of simple autowaves in various physical, chemical and biological bistable distributed systems having two stable homogeneous states. In physical systems, such autowaves describe the spread of the system switching front from one of its stable (metastable) state to another (equilibrium).
