The sensual world of “Thirty-three Freaks” was embodied in the fiction of the Silver Age. The atmosphere of the “tower” is illustrated by the play by L.D. Zinovieva-Annibal “The Singing Donkey” and Georgy Chulkov’s story “Midnight Light” (1909), the characters of which are contaminated with the features of the guests who visited Ivanovo “Wednesdays”. However, some images are more than transparent: Sergei Savinov - Vyach. Ivanov; his wife Lyudmila – L.D. Zinovieva-Annibal; Anna Nikolaevna Kalinovskaya - Anna Rudolfovna Mintslova, famous theosophist, Iv.Iv. Kassandrov - D.S. Merezhkovsky. Lydia Dmitrievna herself, apparently, liked the story. She even “advertised” it to her friends. So, she wrote to Chulkov: “Have you seen “Thirty-three Freaks”? Very interesting, I assure you. My dear strict critic, Nadezhda Grigorievna (wife of G.I. Chulkova - M.M.), take it from Vyacheslav and read it" (RGALI. F. 548. Inventory 1. Item 336. Letter dated August 12, 1906 (?) of the year). Lydia Ivanova cites a funny episode in her memoirs: “...Mom wrote a story called “Thirty-three Freaks.” For my mother’s birthday, I cut out 33 figures from paper, sewed them in the form of a small notebook, presented them to my mother with an inscription and asked: can’t 33 freaks form one handsome man? I remember that this thought amused the adults and, to my pride, aroused a whole discussion among them” (Ivanova L. Memoirs. A book about my father. M., 1992. P. 15).
