The book by Hiroyuki Agava is a detailed story about the descendant of the ancient samurai Nagaoka family - Yamamato Isoroku, who began his military career as a cadet in the Russian-Japanese War and ended it with the commander-in-chief of the United Fleet. A naval attache at the Japanese Embassy in Washington, Agave was opposed to war with the United States and participated in the London Conference on Maritime Disarmament, but went down in history as the author of the famous attack on Pearl Harbor. The book narrates his military and state activities, as well as his private life.
