“The Murder of Father Frost” is such a classic English detective story, but it happened in an exemplary Gallic provincial town and was played in French. The famous relic of St. Nicholas, the Golden Hand, disappeared after the revolution of 1789-1794. Blaise Cappel, a sacristan from Mortfon - a town in the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle in the south of France - is leading the search, carefully searching the castle of Baron de La Fail and the ruins of the old abbey. But strangely, many incomprehensible subjects also seemed to suddenly become interested in Nikolai. And so, while the residents of Mortfon are preparing for Christmas, a shrine with the relics of St. Nicholas, decorated with two diamonds, is stolen. A suspicious stranger who calls himself the Marquis de Santa Claus from Portugal checks into a local hotel. And on Christmas night they kill Santa Claus...
