The Khakass say: “Distant relatives are friends, close relatives are hostile.” The way it is. For example, 20–30 years ago we perceived with great joy some similarity between the Khakass language and the language of the Central Asian Kyrgyz. Some were happy to consider the Kirghiz, like all Turks, brothers. But then happiness happened to us - distant Kyrgyz began to explore our Khakassia en masse. And almost immediately the “newly appeared relatives” began to destroy the myth of a certain Turkic brotherhood. There are many examples of incorrect, to put it mildly, behavior of aliens towards the Khakass. But this is not the trouble, but the trouble is that it revealed the desire of outsiders to privatize Khakass history, to oust the Khakassians from the pages of the great history of the Ancient Khakass state, the so-called Kyrgyz Kaganate. Questions arise: 1. Who are the Kirghiz of Central Asia, and what relation do they have to Southern Siberia?2. How does the loss of historical memory happen? Answers the well-known scientist in scientific Russia, head of the Group of Medieval Archeology of the Eurasian Steppes of the Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Historical Sciences IGOR LEONIDOVICH KYZLASOV.
