On a distant, underdeveloped star, five people are traveling in a rusty self-transporter from the cosmodrome to the capital - four male representatives of different constellations and a gloomy earthling girl. The road is long, the landscape outside the portholes is dull, and to pass the time, the travelers start a competition: whoever tells the most entertaining story will win a prize. The girl, of course, is nominated to be a judge. By a strange coincidence, the main characters of all the stories told bear the same last name - Petrov. And don’t feed these same Petrovs honey, just let them get involved in skirmishes either with the Indians or with the ambassador of Aldebaran. Each storyteller is convinced that the prize will go to him. But the girl has her own – very mysterious – attitude towards stories with the Petrovs.
