Alexander Snegirev studied at the Moscow Architectural Institute and the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, but chose the path of writing. When he was little, his parents subscribed to the magazine "England". The December 1987 issue included a small calendar with a photograph of green hills. The following year, his mother went on a six-month business trip, and while waiting for her return, he began crossing out days on this calendar. A week later he abandoned the deletion, but from then on the green hills forever became for him the promise of happiness, the impossibility of happiness, and happiness itself. And happiness itself is a strange thing: unsteady, elusive, impossible and at the same time eternal.
