The story is followed by “Gregeria” by the Spanish writer, essayist, and prominent figure of the Madrid avant-garde, Ramon Gómez de la Serna (1888–1963). This is how the author himself, the founder of the genre, defines “gregeria”: “Gregoria captures a moment ready for change, captures an ephemeral reality doomed to destruction - but isn’t everything that a person touches fraught with death? And isn’t it the duty of human art to save from destruction?..” Examples of the genre: “A pencil draws out the shadows of words”, “Dried fountains are gravestone monuments to water.” For the domestic reader, the writing style of Ramon Gomez de la Serna may remind the style of Yuri Olesha, "king of metaphors" Introduction by Boris Dubin, translation by Vsevolod Bagno.
